hey YO! I’m back and hopefully better than ever. I took some time away to regroup, refocus, and appreciate this amazing life I have. The end of 2023 is a couple steps away and I wanted to share some thoughts that have been on my mind this year.
I have to start off with the most exciting news, I’m gonna be a daddy (again)!! Another little girl will be blessing the Thompson household in April of 2024
Fatherhood.. hmm.. I’ll be honest, I’m loving it. Sure it can be exhausting, and definitely some learning to do but I have experienced some of the most amazing moments in my life these past couple years. It’s not only about Aurelia either, as I’ve gotten to watch her mama Andrea grow too. She took the opportunity to go back to school and ran away with it. She made her first semester look like child’s play (even though I know it was a LOT of work). I am so proud of her, and excited to see her continue her journey, not only as a student but as a mother as well.
Speaking of fatherhood, dad I am still missing you everyday. It’s true what they say, it doesn’t get easier. You would absolutely adore the little girl that Aurelia is becoming. I can see the smile on your face. I never got the chance to tell you certain things but I hope that you knew them. Thank you for being the dad I needed, my dad. We didn’t always see eye to eye on things but we never had any real beefs between the two of us. I’m sorry that I wasn’t a better son. I’m sorry that I wasn’t there when maybe I needed to be. Thank you for the lessons I learned from you. Thank you for being the grumpy old man that had a heart of gold. I’m proud of you and the man you were. You went from a stubborn bull to a big teddy bear, which brought me mad joy. I will continue to be the best person that I can be and be the father that my little girls deserve. This is my tribute to you, this is how I will honor you. I love you dad!
As the years continue to fly by I am learning more and more about this life we have. It’s short, it’s unpredictable, hell it’s a bit scary. We laugh, we love, we hurt, we cry and before you know it we say goodbye. Cherish it.. every moment. I’ll tell you from experience, you’ll be riding high one day and BAM, your whole world gets flipped upside down. Whether the day is going smoothly or you’ve hit a bump in the road, cherish it. We were never told that our lives would be easy. Embrace change, smile and laugh as much as you can, tell someone how much they mean to you, or send a daily text to remind someone that they matter. Don’t get me wrong, I have bad days but I’m done taking advantage of excuses. I’m going to do my best to celebrate each day as it was my last.
Thank you for allowing me to express myself. I hope that you will take something away from this, in one way or another. I love my life and I hope that it shows thru my words, my pictures and my legacy I leave behind. We have an exciting 2024 coming up and I cannot wait to share it all with you guys. Also, I am going to use my Thread account for posting, well.. my opinions. I have enough other accounts that I post pictures and updates, so I figured I’d try something different. If you are interested in seeing what I have to say, I’ll leave my link below.
