Wow, where do I start with this post. Until the year 2020 I had the assumption that a kid would not be in the cards for me. That all changed after falling in love with Andrea. After some discussionds, the reality of having a kid became a possilibilty. Now fast forward to August of 2021 and Andrea comes home from the doctor with a slightly shocked look on her face. She tosses me a bag that had a pregnacy test in it and WOAH, she’s pregnant! My heart fluttered and joy filled my body, I cannot belive this, I am going to be a dad! March 31st 2022 at 10:39pm, Aurelia Leilani was born.
That moment changed my life forever! I am not going to go into more details about that, most of you follow me on some sort of social media, and you all have probably already seen lots of updates. So let us jump to March 31st 2023. Aurelia shares a birthday with Sklylar, her cousin, so we got together with the family for a celebratory dinner at Outback Steakhouse in Johnson City. Our little superstar brightened the place up, as she normally does. I am not sure she has met a stranger. We all shared laughs and delicious food before heading back home for the night.
We decided to do Aurelia’s party on April 1st because of it being a Saturday and more convenient for people’s schedules. I got up early that morning and headed to the Dollar Tree to grab a few last minute items along with balloons for the birthday girl. We asked grandma to come over and hang out with Aurelia so we could go set up the decorations and cakes at Johnny Brusco’s. Once we got there we made quick work before the guests starting arriving. All set and ready to P A R T Y !
The guests started rolling in so we set up the mini ball pit and let Aurelia get first dibs to see how she would like it. Success! She got to meet some new friends and say hello to some that she already knew. It was great to see the love that she was getting from all of these amazing people. We all stuffed our faces with salad and pizza, including the birthday girl! Afterwards Andrea sat with Aurelia and began to open presents. Wow, I am thankful for you all, seriously, thankful for the love you all cast towards my little girl. It fills my heart with so much happiness seeing that smile on her face. With the opening of the presents finished, it was time for… cake, yes cake. I wanted to give a HUGE shout out and thank you to Tina and all of the ladies that work the bakery at Sam’s Club, the cakes/cupcakes were delicious!!
Unfortunately we had to rush through opening the presents and the eating of the cake, that’s another story for another day, but we decided to continue the celebration at home. We set up her up in her chair and started singing happy birthday. I believe with the quieter atmosphere she was able to relax and indulge in the sweetness in front of her. After she finished the cake (she looked like a scene from the Walking Dead, HA!) we gave her a quick rinse off and let her play with all her new toys. Thank you to everyone that played a part in her celebration, she is a very special girl and has brought so much love and happiness into the world. I am honored to be her father and I am looking forward in seeing her grow into a little human. Year one in the books, what’s next… stay tuned. Till then, thank you for stopping by to read my blog, don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already and that’s it.. captain out!
